![]() Attention Teachers, Club Organizers, Youth Group Leaders, Corporate Convention Groups, etc.: It's not too early to plan that special field trip to the beach, and we hope you will consider including a sand castle lesson from the folks who wrote the book on Texas Gulf Coast sand sculpting - the Sons of the Beach! |

Treat your group to hands-on sandcastling instruction in an entertaining format. In just an hour you will be building and carving very cool sand structures - no artistic talent required. Sandcastling can be tied in with many areas of study, including art, group dynamics, science and history. It is also a fun, "beachy" team-building activity that many major corporations are starting to notice. Our technique - we call it "A Modified Drip" - involves digging a hole down to the water table and withdrawing super wet sand from the bottom of it. We'll show you how to build towers, walls and arches and then help you carve them into recognizable structures. We provide all the carving tools you will need and we'll even leave a few behind so you can keep playing after we go. |
The prices here apply to groups of 20 and larger. I can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 150 - for larger groups, please e-mail your details for a custom quote.

Corporate Team-Building Activity: The Sons of the Beach are starting to get lots of these kind of jobs... recent clients include Nokia and Southwestern Bell. We provide 15-20 minutes of instruction before breaking out into teams (optimally with 7-12 persons per team.) Our instructors (we have a total of six usually available) coach and work with teams to help them formulate a plan, then execute it by designating specific tasks based on team members' interests and strengths - frequently in a contest format.
This exercise can be enhanced with a demo sculpture prior to the lesson. Participants get to see a finished piece by an accomplished team of sand sculptors and the addition of the corporate logo to the sculpture makes for an excellent group photo opportunity. For more information, click here. |
